This is a full-time (1.0 time-base), benefits eligible, temporary position anticipated to end on or before 12/31/2018, with the possibility of reappointment and/or permanency. This position is designated exempt under FLSA and is not eligible for overtime compensation. Standard SDSU work hours are Monday – Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., but may vary based on operational needs.
Under the direction of the Director of the Center for Intercultural Relations, the incumbent will be responsible for the development, implementation and evaluation of strategies to foster a diverse and inclusive learning environment through a variety of mechanisms, such as co-curricular activities and student training programs. The incumbent will address the needs of a diverse student body, through the implementation of effective educational, social, integrative diversity, intersectional, community-building and leadership development programming. The incumbent is also responsible for assessing student learning outcomes.

Compensation and Benefits
Starting salary upon appointment not expected to exceed $3,858 per month. CSU Classification Salary Range: $3,858 - $5,485 per month. Salary placement is determined by the education, experience, and qualifications the candidate brings to the position, internal equity, and the hiring department's fiscal resources.

Equivalent to graduation from a four-year college or university in one of the behavioral sciences, public or business administration or a job related field. Additional specialized experience during which the applicant has acquired and successfully applied the knowledge and abilities shown above may be substituted for the required education on a year for year basis.
Equivalent of two years of professional experience in one of the student services program areas or in a related field; experience should give evidence of competence and indicate the potential for further growth. A master’s degree in a job related field may be substituted for one year of the professional experience
Preferred Qualifications and Specialized Skills
- At least 1 year experience in event planning and programming, so that monthly and quarterly calendar of events can be accomplished.
- Master's degree is preferred.
- 2 years minimum of professional use of Microsoft Office, Word, Excel, and Power Point.
- Experience working with students, communities and person from diverse identities and backgrounds.
