Position Summary:

The Program Developer is responsible for orienting prospective and current non-English speaking students in the English as a Second Language (ESL) and English Basic Skills (EBS) programs. This includes administering and interpreting student assessments, advising and registering students in appropriate courses and referring students to resources within the college and community. The Program Developer monitors student enrollment, retention and completion of EBS/ESL courses and certificate programs. The Program Developer also assists with marketing and recruitment activities, including student enrollment fairs and orientations, program completion ceremonies, course scheduling and publications. This is a grant-funded contractual position.

This position is grant-funded until June 30, 2017. Continuation of the position is dependent on availability of funding and job performance.

Required Qualifications:
Associate's Degree required; a major in education or TESOL certificate preferred. Experience administering educational assessments.
One year of experience with data collection and general office duties required; experience in preparing reports preferred.

Demonstrated proficiency with microcomputer applications.

Proven ability to maintain records and organize information.

Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills.

Ability to work with minimal supervision and with attention to details and deadlines.

Ability to deal tactfully and effectively with students, faculty, staff, and the public.

Willingness and ability to work a flexible schedule to accommodate the needs of ESL and EBS programs.
Willingness and ability to travel to EBS sites located throughout Anne Arundel County.



Preferred Qualifications:

A major in education or TESOL certificate is preferred

Experience in preparing reports is preferred.



Hours per Week: 40

Work Schedule: Monday -Friday 8:30am-4:30pm, some evenings and weekends
