Business Law Assistant/Associate Professor
The Department of Finance, Banking and Insurance in the Walker College of Business at Appalachian State University invites applications for a tenure-track faculty position in business law at the rank of assistant or associate professor beginning Fall Semester 2017.
Qualified candidates will hold a J.D. from an ABA-accredited law school and be a member in good standing of a state bar association. Successful candidates will provide evidence of college-level teaching experience in the areas of the Legal Environment of Business or Business Law, strong interpersonal and communication skills and professional or scholarly activities sufficient to meet faculty qualifications under AACSB standards.
In addition to the above requirements, the following qualifications are desired:
- The ability to teach in other areas of the department (e.g., insurance, real estate, finance, or employee benefits)
- Five or more years of law-related experience in industry or the practice of law
- Full course responsibilities in college-level teaching
