The School of Education is seeking two student workers. SUMMARY OF POSITIONThis is a part-time position (20 hours per week) working with the Dean of Education and bilingual education department within the School of Education. The selected candidate will work Monday through Friday; hours will vary to equal 20 hours per week. This position pays $15 per hour. JOB RESPONSIBILITIES?Primary responsibility is attracting and recruiting potential bilingual teacher candidates from area community colleges, high schools, etc.?Leading recruitment sessions and attending recruitment events (e.g. speaking at classes at area schools, working at booths at recruiting events, etc.)?Planning and coordination of recruitment events (e.g. schedule room reservations for meetings and events, assist with logistics for events and activities, track and communicate RSVP progress when assigned, etc.)?Help develop, recruit volunteers, and coordinate and lead Bilingual Education Student Organization (BESO) clubs in local high schools and community colleges?Assist with daily office responsibilities such as work in Microsoft Office programs, receiving inbound calls, networking to schedule recruitment events. ?Ongoing communication with potential bilingual candidates and parents; assist to connect candidates with advisors and student support at UNT Dallas.?Must be able to work in a VERY fast paced environment, multitask and work independently.EDUCATIONAL BENEFITS?Work within a professional team environment and gain valuable leadership skills?Develop relationships with area school district and community college leaders and teachers, parents, and community-based organizations?Gain practical work experience in career areas of education, public relations, networking and student recruitment.
