The Political Science Department at the University of North Texas is seeking to hire an Administrative Specialist I to join our team. Responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to:* The Administrative Specialist I position performs a variety of academic support tasks that are routine and tend to be repetitive in nature.* Responsible for assisting instructors with the creation, copying, and distribution of all types of course-related materials - including syllabi, exams, evaluation materials, etc. * Responsible for the administration of all make-up tests - following departmental procedures and instructors' requests. * The Administrative Specialist I position will be called upon to assist the other Political Science staff members with office support duties on an as-needed basis. The successful candidate will possess a High School diploma or GED equivalent and one year of general office or clerical experience. Substitution of education for experience allowed.The following knowledge, skills, and abilities are required:* Skill in evaluating facts or situation to route calls/customers appropriately.* Skill in telephone etiquette and courteous communications with public.* Skill in basic office procedures.* Skill in the use of personal computer/software.* Skill in the operation of a variety of office machines including, personal computers, telephones and copiers.* Skill in basic filing and recordkeeping.
