The Student Accounting Department at the University of North Texas System Administration is seeking to hire a Cashiering Manager (Student Accounts) to join our team. The Cashiering Manager is responsible for the overall first-line supervision of student accounts cashiering operations for UNT System. Performs moderately complex (senior-level) supervisory program work. Work involves assisting in establishing goals and objectives; assisting in developing guidelines, procedures, policies, rules, and regulations; assisting in developing schedules, priorities, and standards for achieving goals; and assisting in evaluating activities. Supervises the work of student accounts cashiers. Works under general supervision, with limited latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgment.Responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to:* Supervise and direct the collection and recording of all incoming funds for student accounts.* Ensure Payment Card Industry Security Standards are maintained within the department and assist other departments when needed.* Provide supervision, instruction, guidelines and procedures for cashiers who receive and record revenue and payments on student accounts.* Provide guidance, investigate errors and resolve problems in daily reconciliation of cash and credit card payments and various clearing accounts.* Maintain system historical records and source documents on deposits and receivables for support and review with departments, internal and external auditors.* Develop daily and monthly reconciliation procedures and programs between A/R and General Accounting, help to resolve and correct any discrepancies.* Prepare year-end closing for deposit accounts required by GASB.* Prepare necessary reports, schedules and footnotes required for fiscal year-end financial statements.* Establish and implement policies, goals, objectives, and procedures for the department.* Review needs for staff training and establish training programs.* Develop and review cashiering operating procedures to increase efficiency.* Frequently travel (40%) to UNT Dallas and UNT Health Science Center.The University of North Texas System is firmly committed to equal opportunity and does not permit - and takes actions to prevent - discrimination, harassment (including sexual violence), and retaliation on the basis of race, color, religion, national origin, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, age, disability, family status, genetic information, citizenship or veteran status in its application and admission processes, educational programs and activities, facilities, and employment practices. The successful candidate will possess a Bachelor's Degree in accounting, finance or a related field related field and three years of accounting experience. The following knowledge, skills, and abilities are required:* Knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles and procedures affecting the maintenance of accounting records and automated accounting systems.* Working knowledge of MS Office suite.* Skill in using office computer information systems to organize, store, manipulate and retrieve data.* Effective communications skills both orally and in writing.* Critical thinking skills.* Ability to plan, organize and effectively manage multiple assignments.* Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships.* Ability to work in a fast paced environment, with frequently changing priorities.* Focused on providing a high level of customer service and follow-through.
