Posting Summary:
The Department of Medicine, Division of Hematology/Oncology at the University of Virginia, seeks candidates for a tenure-eligible or tenure-ineligible clinical faculty position at the rank of Associate or full Professor to lead the clinical and research GI oncology programs. Rank and track are dependent upon qualifications.

Candidates must have a MD or equivalent and be board-certified in Internal Medicine by appointment start date. Board-certification in Medical Oncology is required. Evidence of expertise in the care of patients with GI malignancies is required.

The incumbent will develop the clinical trial research efforts in GI oncology utilizing the excellent translational research opportunities and resources available at the University. Additionally, the incumbent will attend inpatient and outpatient services and participate in multidisciplinary team care and clinical research within the Cancer Center. As an integral part of the educational mission, the incumbent will actively participate in the teaching of fellows, residents, and medical students and the mentoring of junior faculty in the GI oncology program. This faculty position is designed for physicians focused on a career of clinical investigation and the provision of outstanding clinical care including active participation in our educational mission.
