The Department of Biology at California State University San Bernardino invites applications for the position of Full-Time Lecturer effective September 13, 2017 for non-majors human anatomy & physiology, and as Academic Coordinator for majors and non-majors laboratory courses with large enrollments.

TYPICAL ACTIVITIES: As Lecturer, the incumbent will teach multiple lecture sections of non-majors human anatomy & physiology and will work with the faculty to keep the lecture and laboratory curriculum up to date. They will be expected to participate in intramural and extramural professional development both in terms of content knowledge and science pedagogy, and to engage in pedagogical and course innovation. Other teaching duties such as general biology courses for the non-majors general education program may be assigned as appropriate. Furthermore, as Academic Coordinator for the Department, the incumbent will coordinate and oversee the conduct and/or content of laboratory sections for several majors and non-majors biology courses with large enrollments, including but not limited to human anatomy & physiology, microbiology, and general biology. The ideal candidate will have experience in coordinating a group of graduate student teaching assistants and part-time instructors and will handle personnel scheduling, coordinate with instructional support staff for lab supply purchases and lab set up, coordinate with faculty for course content and exam scheduling, coordinate with administrative staff to handle enrollment issues, and other related duties as appropriate. Salary will be commensurate with education and experience.    

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: A MS degree in Biology or related discipline is required, with a Ph.D. and research/teaching experience in anatomy & physiology desired, especially for allied health programs such as nursing, health sciences and kinesiology.
