Position Description:

Manages all functions of bookstore course materials department. Collects course material information from faculty, enters data into textbook management system, creates and sends orders to used book wholesalers, internet vendors and publishers. Manages inventory and processes book returns.

Essential Job Functions and Responsibilities:

  • Procurement and provision in a timely manner of all course materials to support the academic mission

  • Develop and update course material strategies to adapt to market changes

  • Establish, develop and maintain relationships with faculty and campus service areas that impact course materials

  • Work with campus departments to evaluate and implement new technologies and delivery systems for course materials

  • Oversee effective entry, management and analysis of inventory control data in a dedicated point-of-sale system

  • Manage physical and fiscal inventories for Course Material department

  • Oversee pricing and monitor budget for course materials

Supervisory Responsibilities NA

Budget Responsibilities Responsible for reconciliation of all P-Card purchases

Minimum Requirements (candidates must possess these requirements in order to be hired into this position) Associates Degree or 3 years progressively responsible Course Material buying experience.

Retail experience in a buying or management position. Customer service and team focus. Experience with a variety of computer systems including point-of-sale and inventory control processes. Ability to interact well with faculty, staff, administration, students, vendors and other customers. Verbal and written communication skills to interact clearly, courteously and effectively with individuals of varying backgrounds. Skill to organize work effectively to achieve timely progress on multiple simultaneous tasks, meet deadlines and maintain a high level of productivity. Ability to lift up to 50 pounds. Able and willing to work occasional weekends, travel to meetings, etc. Assist in operations of the store with assigned tasks as requested.

  • Ability to lift 50 pounds on numerous occasions

This position is FLSA status from the provisions of the Fair Labor Standards Act.
