The Theatre and Dance Department at Bucknell University seeks a 9-month sabbatical replacement to serve as Visiting Assistant Professor in Scene Design for the 2017-18 academic year. This person will work in an undergraduate program with a long history of strong production values. Applicants must hold an MFA in Scenic Design. Prior teaching experience at the college level is preferred. Responsibilities include designing scenery and related properties for three major theatre productions and one dance concert; supervising student assistants in scene painting and properties; and teaching Scene Design, Visual Styles (a collaborative course for advanced designers, projects with advanced directing students), Special Topics in Design (in candidate's area of specialization), Technical Theatre Practicum (each semester).
