Job Description Responsibilities Create and maintain WMATA's enterprise metadata repository Create and maintain data models (logical and physical) at the enterprise level and lower Use modeling and metadata tools to reverse engineer database structures Support the definition and decision process to designate conformed dimensions for the enterprise data warehouse Support WMATA's Enterprise Architect, Information Architect, Application Architect, and Cognos Architect in the proper allocation and usage of data sources Create and maintain extensive metadata documentation Create and disseminate informational materials regarding the data management function at WMATA Support data stewards and other WMATA stakeholders as needed Minimum Requirements Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Science, Engineering, or related discipline Experience in entity relationship modeling Experience in dimensional and DMR modeling Experience with metadata management for large (200 or more entities) models Experience creating and maintaining enterprise data models Experience assisting development teams and database administrators in creating, understanding and using enterprise metadata Experience implementing and maintaining the metadata and modeling tool(s) currently in use at WMATA (at this writing, ERwin 7.4) Excellent communication skills Preferred Requirements Experience creating or maintaining an enterprise data warehouse and/or related data marts Experience with one or more of the following systems: Maximo, PeopleSoft, PeopleSoft EPM, NextFare, Trapeze Experience in the transit industry Publication as a technical writer in a technical or corporate journal or similar publication Experience Levels Senior level, with more than 7 years with major responsibility for metadata management and modeling
