University of Maryland University College (UMUC) seeks adjunct faculty to teach, on site in College Park and Dorsey in the MBA program. Specifically, we are seeking faculty for the following course: 

PRO 600 - Communicating, Problem Solving, and Leading in Professional Fields: This course is intended to make students more valuable to an employer by gaining and improving skills in communication and problem solving. Students will explore the industry of business by developing connections to their career aspirations, creating a professional social network presence, and using critical thinking to inform decisions. Students will also improve and refine their skills in communication, critical thinking, quantitative reasoning, and team leadership. They will hone their professional writing and oral communication skills to produce effective presentations and become proficient with current technology. 

Required Education and Experience

This position is specifically to teach in College Park, MD or Elkridge, MD

  • Guide students in active collaboration and the application of their learning in problem- and project-based learning demonstrations.
  • Provide rich and regular constructive feedback, utilizing rubrics effectively for the assessment of student work, and acknowledging student accomplishments.
  • Demonstrate relevant and current subject-matter expertise, and help students connect concepts across their academic program.
  • Provide feedback to your program chair on possible curricular improvements.
