Job Summary/Basic Function: The Department of History and Political Science invites applications for a position as Assistant Professor of History. The successful candidate will provide 27 - 32 hours of instruction per academic year, consistent with the college's mission, and maintain office hours for student tutoring. The successful candidate will also meet the requirements for professional development and service to the institution that are established for faculty on tenure-track. This is a full-time tenure-track position located at Perimeter College.
Required Experience: Three years' or more experience teaching history at the collegiate level is desired. Experience in teaching fully online is a plus.
Required Education: A doctoral degree in History (completed by the date of appointment) is required.
Preferred Qualifications: Ability to teach the United States History and World Civilizations survey courses at the college level. Ability and desire to teach effectively using a variety of methods. Ability to relate to a diverse student population and facilitate student learning. Effective oral and written communication skills. Demonstrated knowledge of instructional technology.
