Job Summary/Basic Function: The Department of History and Political Science invites applications for a non-tenure track Lecturer position in History. The successful candidate will provide 36 hours of instruction per academic year, consistent with the college's mission, and maintain office hours for student tutoring. This is a full-time, non-tenure track position located at Perimeter College. Lecturers are appointed on a year-to-year basis renewable up to six years.
Required Experience: Prior experience teaching history at the collegiate level is desired. Experience in teaching fully online is a plus.
Required Education: A Master's degree in History (completed by the date of appointment) is required. A Ph.D. is preferred.
Preferred Qualifications: Ability to teach the United States History and World Civilizations survey courses at the college level. Ability and desire to teach effectively using a variety of methods. Ability to relate to a diverse student population and facilitate student learning. Effective oral and written communication skills. Demonstrated knowledge of instructional technology.
