Degree and Area of Specialization: Bachelor's degree in business, business administration, health services administration, or related field required. Master's degree in Business Administration, or related field preferred.
Minimum number of years and type of relevant work experience: Seven or more years of progressively responsible professional experience, with a record of significant leadership accomplishments in managing a busy research program in a large clinical specialty department, preferably in an academic medical center environment within a medical group practice is required. A strong understanding and recognition of the academic medical center's multiple missions of research, teaching, clinical service and community service is also required. Demonstrated ability in financial and personnel management, with proven success in leading a large and diverse team is preferred. Incumbent must possess the ability to communicate and interact effectively with faculty, staff, and students as well as superiors, senior administrators, and peers in other departments across campus and in the UW Health organization, the Veterans Administration Hospital, and in industry; demonstrated abilities in policy development, contract negotiations and drafting, strategic planning, program development and budgetary/finance skills; excellent organizational skills; excellent attention to detail; the ability to work independently; demonstrated abilities in developing creative solutions to unique challenges; a proven strong work ethic, and experience managing staff, with a minimum of 5 years of supervisory experience. A record of effectiveness in committee activities is preferred. Demonstrated experience in effective team building methods is preferred.

Position Summary: The Department of Radiology is seeking an experienced Research Administrator (RA) to lead and manage the department's growing research program, which is ranked 11th in NIH funding nationally. Our clinical study coordination program has grown significantly, and we are engaged in exciting new programs such as molecular imaging and Medical Imaging Resource Services (MIRS). Our program operations are located at the Wisconsin Institutes for Medical Research (WIMR), 1111 Highland Avenue, Madison, Wisconsin. Clinical research programs are conducted in WIMR, UW Hospitals and Clinics, and other outreach sites.
