Job Description
This position will act as lead Research Associate assisting the Research Assistant Professor in conducting complex research and evaluation projects. The research associate will also provide support by collecting and analyzing quantitative and qualitative data, conducting literature reviews, summarizing project results, preparing reports for the funding agency, maintaining databases, and preparing other reports and presentations as needed. Recommends to management plans for projects or studies and recommends guidelines and outlines for research procedures. Discusses findings with manager to evaluate validity of findings. This position may provide guidance to junior staff and/or
graduate assistants including review of data and projects for accuracy. This position is established in support of expanded research activities or projects.

Two positions available.

Highly motivated and possesses the ability to work both independently and collaboratively with other project partners. Must have keen attention to detail and excellent organizational skills. Provides expertise on research and evaluation projects as assigned to include data collection, data entry, qualitative and quantitative analysis, assisting with report and grant writing, and conducting literature reviews. Experience with data analysis, research and evaluation projects and with interviewing such as conducting focus groups. Experience working closely with other researchers in developing new methods and procedures, collecting and summarizing data, writing detailed technical reports, creating and maintaining computerized spreadsheets and documentation, and managing, training, and mentoring other team members.


Minimum Qualifications
Ph.D. degree in social work or a related field and a minimum of one year of experience conducting applied research studies and/or program evaluations, writing reports and disseminating findings. Scholarly publication record should be commensurate with experience.

Special Instructions to Applicants
There are two positions. One will support the Placement needs assessment study and one will support the NYTD survey and analysis of youth in foster care. Both will need qualitative and quantitative skill sets but the NYTD position will be more quantitative focused and the Placement position will be more qualitative focused.
