University Counseling Center
Works together with the Director and Associate Director in providing oversight and management of UCC clinical, administrative and outreach operations; Provides supervision and evaluation of clinical staff; Serves as a senior management team member and oversees the operation of the Center in the absence of the Director and Associate Director.Provides individual, group, couples and crisis counseling to FSU students, consultations to parents, faculty, staff and administrators regarding students of concern and mental health outreach programming to the FSU campus.Provides orientation, supervision, and training of interns, practicum students and staff. Assisting in the recruitment, hiring, training and supervision of a multidisciplinary staff and trainees. Works together with the Director and Associate Director in providing oversight and management of UCC clinical, administrative and outreach operations; collaborates and consults with campus and community constituents to ensure continuity of mental health care for students. Serves as a Senior Management Team Member and is involved in administrative decisions, strategic planning, and the implementation of identified goals and initiatives. Serves as a consultant to crisis response, critical incidents, and other health and safety concerns; assists Director with crisis management during campus emergencies. Serving on committees that address campus safety and security (e.g., campus threat assessment team, student support team, committees related to emergency preparedness, etc.); Serving as liaison to academic and nonacademic units/departments.
Master's degree or higher in Mental Health Counseling, Marriage and Family Therapy or Social Work with a state license to practice independently and 5 years post-licensure experience. At least 2 years administrative experience in a clinical setting.
Preferred candidates will have a Doctorate and 5 years post licensure experience. 2 years counseling and administrative experience in a university counseling center.
Must be licensed as Mental Health Counselor or Licensed Clinical Social Worker per Florida Statute 491.
Significant experience in college counseling centers or clinics, strong clinical skills and demonstrated ability with outreach, consultation and suicide prevention programming.
Also preferred is a demonstrated ability in and commitment to the training and supervision of master's and doctoral interns.
A track record of teamwork, collegiality, and leadership is valued in our Mentor-Apprentice Training Model. Demonstrated skills working with diverse students, faculty, and staff in a multicultural environment is preferred.
This is an A&P (Administrative and Professional) position.
Soft Money Funded Position
This position is time-limited based on soft money funding, with renewal contingent upon available funds and the needs of the University.
Criminal Background Check
This position requires successful completion of a criminal history background check, to include fingerprinting.
