Physician Assistant/Nurse Practitioner

The Division of Infectious Diseases at the University of Colorado School of Medicine is seeking applicants for a full-time Advanced Practice Provider (APP). This position will be based at the University of Colorado Hospital and Infectious Diseases Group Practice (IDGP).

Primary duties of this provider will include:

  • Four half days/week to perform follow-up outpatient visits, in collaboration with Attending physicians, for patients enrolled in the Outpatient Parenteral Antimicrobial Therapy (OPAT)
  • Managing/directing care of patients on IV antibiotics at home or in nursing facilities.
  • Reviewing laboratory results and reacting on urgent/emergent values, patient follow-up and coordinating continuation orders with the prescribing physician
  • Continuous monitoring of OPAT program quality assurance, cost-effectiveness, patient satisfaction, and potential research projects.


Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Hold a graduate degree and licensing/certification for a Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner.
  • Be eligible for certification with independent prescriptive authority.
  • Have inpatient clinical experience as an advanced practitioner (completion of an advanced practice fellowship qualifies); a special interest in Infectious Diseases is preferred.
In addition, applicants need to demonstrate leadership ability, flexibility, time management, communication and interpersonal skills.
