The Department of Pediatrics, Section of Child Neurology, has an opening for an entry-level full-time Postdoctoral Fellow to work at the Anschutz Medical Campus in Aurora. The position entails basic translational research to investigate the molecular changes triggered during epileptogenesis.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:




A Doctoral degree in Neuroscience, Pharmacology, Biology, Bioengineering or a related field. Prior experience with electrophysiological or imaging techniques is preferred.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Animal care and handling
  • Knowledge of research techniques including electrophysiology or imaging.
  • Experience with in vivo animal models of epilepsy is preferred
  • Experience with stereotaxic procedures will be a plus


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Prior expertise with in vitro electrophysiology in acute slices.
  • Expertise in immunostaining and confocal microscopy.
  • Experience with stereotaxic surgery.
  • Animal husbandry
