The Department of Pediatrics Section of Pulmonology has an opening for a full-time Assistant Professor to Full Professor. This position will clinically see pediatric patients with sleep disorders, attend in our inpatient service (weeks TBD), perform sleep study interpretations, and evaluate patients for use of noninvasive ventilator equipment. This role will work with a dedicated team of professionals in the assessment and treatment of these types of patients. This position



The section of Pediatric Pulmonology has 44 faculty members (to include Sr., Jr., PhD, Nurse Practitioner and Physician Assistant Faculty) with on-going interests in asthma, interstitial lung disease, pulmonary hypertension, bronchopulmonary dysplasia, cystic fibrosis, sleep medicine, the pediatric airway and medical education. This position reports to the Sleep Program Director and Pulmonary Section Chief.

Examples of Work Performed

• Clinical responsibilities include 6-8 half day clinics per week (sleep and general pulmonary-if a pulmonologist) at main, NOC and regional locations.

• Clinical activities include sleep interpretations, sleep scoring, attending inpatient and/or consult service, and rotation through the outpatient service

• Perform bronchoscopies, laryngoscopies

• Read PFTs.






Qualifications

Minimum Requirements

MD/DO

Board certified in Pediatrics

CO Medical license or license eligible

Board-certified or board-eligible in Sleep Medicine

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Skills in pediatric pulmonary diagnostic and therapeutic procedures

• Familiarity with electronic medical record, email, and other medical technologies

• Knowledge appropriate for individuals completing a one-year Sleep Medicine Fellowship.

• Pediatric clinical assessment skills

Preferred Qualifications

• Board certified or Board-eligible in Pediatric Pulmonology, Neurology, ENT or other related field

• Prescriptive Authority

• Experience with either Sandman or XLTEC sleep software
