The University of Colorado Colorado Springs (UCCS) invites applications for a full-time Assistant / Associate Professor in the Department of Leadership, Research and Foundations (LRF) in the College of Education (COE). The Department seeks a scholar with content knowledge of general core coursework in Educational Leadership with a specialization in educational leadership, finance, and management and policy. The typical time allocation for tenured and tenure-track faculty in the College of Education is 40% teaching, 40% research, and 20% service. The teaching load for this position is five classes per academic year, some of which may be online, hybrid, or at off-campus locations, with the potential for additional teaching opportunities during the summer. Additionally, the faculty member will develop and refine teaching and assessment practices; advise students; contribute to the college accreditation initiatives; and participate in appropriate state, regional, and national meetings to represent UCCS.

The COE professional education programs are accredited by the Council for the Accreditation of Educator Preparation (CAEP), the Council for Accreditation of Counseling & Related Educational Programs (CACREP), the Colorado Department of Education (CDE), and the Colorado Commission of Higher Education (CCHE). The College of Education offers programs in professional education: Early Childhood, Elementary, Secondary, Special Education, Counseling, and Educational Leadership. Minimum Qualifications

The position requires an earned doctorate in educational leadership or administration from a regionally accredited institution and evidence of significant leadership experience (at least 5 years) in K-12 schooling at the building and district levels.

Preferred Qualifications
Areas of specialization are open, but preference will be given to applicants with expertise in (1) educational leadership, (2) finance, (3) management and policy, and 4) rural education.

Individuals with educational leadership experience and education policy development experience in state agencies or at the national level are especially encouraged to apply.

To be considered at the Associate Professor level, preferred applicants should show evidence of excellence in teaching and scholarly activities, experience chairing and serving on dissertation committees, history of securing internal and external funding, expertise in key academic area(s) that would enhance the department's national reputation, demonstrated ability to engage in collaborative leadership and partnerships with the College of Education, P-20 constituencies, and the professional and scholarly discipline, and demonstrated capacity or experience for departmental leadership.
