Instructor - RN Family Planning
The nurse manager will work closely with attending, fellow and resident physicians, office staff, medical assistants and professional research assistants. The nurse manager will also work directly with patients and research participants. Patients are seen for options counseling, contraception counseling, ultrasound evaluation, pregnancy termination and sterilization procedures. The nurse manager will coordinate patient visits, develop plans of care and provide counseling and education to patients. Assistance with outpatient procedures, ultrasound guidance during procedures and administration of IV sedation will also be nursing roles. Family planning research subjects may be seen by the nurse manager for ultrasound examinations, medication administration and phlebotomy services.
This position requires a registered nurse with an Associate or Bachelor's degree.
Experience with outpatient gynecological procedures and IV sedation is a must. ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) certification and certification in ultrasound performance is also required.
