Neuroscience Associate Professor

We invite applications for a Mid-level Assistant/Associate Professor faculty position in Neuroscience, with a focus on cellular or developmental neuroscience. Successful candidates are expected to have an established, innovative and independent research program and will participate in graduate, medical and dental school teaching. The successful candidate will join a highly interactive, interdisciplinary group of faculty, students, and fellows, who investigate many aspects of cell and developmental biology. The neuroscience research in the department includes investigations on photoreceptors in Drosophila, glial cells, ion channels and sensory systems with a focus on taste and smell.

The new faculty member is expected to participate in the strong, interdepartmental Neuroscience Graduate Program (www.ucdenver.edu/neuroscience), and become a member of the Center for Neuroscience (www.medschool.ucdenver.edu/CNS), which supports basic, translational and clinical research at the University of Colorado School of Medicine.

The Department of Cell and Developmental Biology is one of six basic science departments in the School of Medicine on the Anschutz Medical Campus at the University of Colorado. New faculty will join a growing enterprise with state-of-the-art equipment and facilities on our new campus (please visit www.medschool.ucdenver.edu/cdb). The University of Colorado School of Medicine is currently recruiting in several basic science departments, including neuroscience recruitments in the Dept. Pharmacology or Dept. Physiology, and other recruitments in immunology, microbiology, stem cell biology, cancer biology and structural biology.

Required Qualifications:
  • Candidates must hold a M.D. or Ph.D.
  • Strong record of research accomplishments
