Assistant Professor

The Practice Director oversees the Infectious Disease Group Practice, a hospital-based outpatient clinic. The program has a primary focus on HIV care but also has many other ID activities including a Travel Clinic, a Transplant ID clinic, an Outpatient Parenteral Antibiotic Program, and general consultation for other ID issues including STDs, hospital follow ups, occupational exposures, and Hepatitis C. The clinic manages over 1800 persons living with HIV and accomplishes over 14,000 visits per year. The Practice Director works closely with a hospital-based clinic Practice Manager. Minimum qualifications are Assistant Professor of Medicine.

The position as Practice Director will be 0.1 - 0.2 FTE. The faculty member will also conduct multiple clinics per week, assist with the Fellow Clinic, and attend on the inpatient ID consult services at least 8 weeks per year.

Additional Duties:

  • Attend hospital, University Physicians Inc., and School of Medicine meetings relevant to the job
  • Organize and attend clinic staff meetings
  • Meet periodically with IDGP Practice Manager on personnel, program, and budget details.

Qualifications

Qualifications:
  • Currently Assistant Professor or above
  • Board-eligible or Board-certified in Infectious Disease
