The Institute of Behavioral Science invites applications for a two-year research associate ("post-doctoral researcher") position. The position will involve working in Professor Myron Gutmann's research group, focusing on research that links population and environment and on issues in data science related to data access and preservation.
The successful candidate will participate in two kinds of research projects, as well as be involved in public engagement activities about the social and behavioral sciences.
The research projects include:
- Research that relates population, agriculture, and environment in the United States since the 1800's
- Research about the preservation of and access to research data in the context of broader questions of pubic access to all sorts of research materials, including publications
The public engagement activities will be devoted to exposing social science research to stakeholders in Colorado and nationally, and engaging with those stakeholders to learn about their need for social and behavioral science research, and ways that researchers and stakeholders can collaborate.
In addition, it is possible for a successful candidate to teach up to one semester-long class per year, depending on the qualifications of the candidate and the needs of CU's academic departments.
Salary determination made commensurate with applicant experience.
