Primary Function of Organization Unit: The Industry Expansion Solutions is a major component of the State's economic development operation by diffusing engineering, science, knowledge and technology to North Carolina industry, business, and public agencies for the enhancement of quality, productivity, and environmental protection. This is accomplished by utilizing professional education and technical assistance that meet the needs of business, industry, and healthcare professionals. Advocating the use of engineering science and technology through best practices promotes corporate growth and the creation of quality products and services.
Essential Job Duties: This position is responsible for managing the department's reporting functions as contractually obligated by state and federal funding sources to include the NCMEP as well as for the strategic planning and resource development functions of the office. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: * Interpreting federal agency procedures and requirements * Managing data from multiple sources within IES and creating required reports * Providing support for grant projects (including but not limited to NIST MEP, DoD and NNMI) for both the manufacturing and non-manufacturing sectors * Analyzing and measuring IES grant performance as compared to federal and state performance standards; * Implementing and analyzing client surveys to determine service delivery performance; and developing ad hoc reports. * Will support the Military Segment Manager/DOD Project Manager, in ensuring compliance with an 18-month grant award, as needed. In addition, this position will provide support to future awards. * Key person in helping to collect, analyze and disseminate data using Access, Excel and data visualization tools such as Tableau. * Ensuring capacity and support for Salesforce this position will require the ability to work with the CRM developer, providing supporting for an increasing number of requests for dashboards and reports.
Department Required Skills: * Must have the ability to communicate effectively with a variety of stakeholders. * Ability to work well with a team by being supportive, helpful and collaborative with separate groups during deadline-driven activities * Ability to incorporate mandated reporting changes into processes as well as the ability to work with teams to identify process improvement opportunities * Must be able to adhere to deadlines and plan work schedule accordingly. * Must have be proficient in the use of Microsoft Office or similar software. * Knowledge and ability to use Excel (functions, manipulation and charting); Access (basic query development) * Knowledge of Data visualization; Data extraction and loading; Survey development methodology; Qualitative data analysis
Preferred Experience, Skills, Training/Education: * A degree in Business Administration or closely related discipline with an emphasis on data analysis and management * Two years of successful contract administration/office management experience * Experience with federal programs. * Experience with Salesforce.
