Position Summary: The Division of Neonatal Perinatal Medicine at the University of North Carolina is seeking a full time Research Instructor to enhance the clinical research team. The responsibilities of this position include the implementation and management of multiple clinical trials including federally funded, investigator initiated, and industry sponsored while adhering to ICH Good Clinical Practice Guidelines and Federal Regulations. The candidate should be able to manage a variety of administrative duties related to clinical activities for the trials as well as duties involved in the recruitment, data collection and compilation, documentation and interventions related to these research protocols. The ability to manage multiple competing priorities and to make important decisions in a stressful environment while adhering to study protocols and data quality is imperative. Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills, flexibility, nursing and research experience are essential. Ability to provide coverage for research studies outside of business hours, as scheduled, is required.
Education Requirements: Nursing degree with valid NC RN license is preferred.
Qualification and Experience: Candidates must have experience in clinical research with demonstrated knowledge of monitoring responses to therapies preferred, as well as the ability to analyze, interpret and report laboratory data. In addition to those described above, essential qualifications include the ability to seek input and oversight when appropriate. The position requires the ability to rapidly adjust priorities while maintaining patient safety, adherence to study protocols and data quality. Candidates must have demonstrated ability to communicate effectively and respectfully with families, members of the healthcare team and sponsor representatives.
