Job Summary The Office of Service-Learning is looking for an energetic, creative, and self-directed individual to coordinate the Experience UGA field trip program. This partnership between the University of Georgia and the Clarke County School District (CCSD) aims to bring every student in the Clarke County School District (CCSD) to UGA's campus for an annual academic field trip. Experience UGA is an early college experience program that allows CCSD students to participate in hands-on, curricular-based learning activities and gain exposure to college life on UGA's campus to foster interest in higher education. There are trips at every grade-level (pre-K to 12th grade), and this program is part of a large-scale partnership between UGA and the local school district to enhance student learning, build a college-going culture among all students, and introduce students to career options related to disciplines across UGA. These experiences connect to the learning standards that teachers are addressing in the classroom and also include pre- and post-trip classroom. In addition, field trips provide learning and leadership opportunities for UGA students through service-learning courses and volunteer opportunities. This program is unique nationally in its commitment to equitable early college experiences for all students in the local school district, as well as the scale and scope of these experiences on all corners of UGA's campus. The Coordinator will report to the Senior Coordinator for Community Partnerships in the Office of Service-Learning. The successful candidate will have a unique professional opportunity to provide support for expanding this program as well as other outreach and engagement initiatives in the OSL as needed. Primary responsibilities include: coordinating with the Experience UGA Advisory Board on administration and strategic planning for program; implementation of field trips activities that connect to grade level standards; managing communication and logistics between UGA trip leaders and CCSD teachers and staff; advising the Experience UGA Ambassador group; fundraising and grant writing; administering trip evaluations; complying with institutional policies surrounding hosting minors on campus; recruiting and managing volunteers and partners through the GivePulse platform; and promoting the Experience UGA program to internal and external stakeholders through presentations and meetings. The UGA Office of Service-Learning (OSL) supports academic service-learning and community engagement initiatives designed to enhance students' civic and academic learning, promote engaged research that is responsive to community needs, and contribute to the public good through mutually beneficial community-university partnerships. Minimum Qualifications Completion of a master's degree with 2 years of related experience; OR completion of a bachelor's degree and 4 years of related experience.
