Adjunct Faculty, Logistics and Supply Chain Management
General Statement of Job
To instruct students in Logistics and Supply Chain Management courses in accordance with college policies and procedures.
Location Highland Campus Hours evenings, as assigned. Salary Salary is assigned according to the Adjunct Faculty Salary Scale. FLSA Status Exempt Reports To Department Chair Criminal Background Check Pre-employment criminal background checks are required for all Staff and Faculty positions. Pre-employment urinalyses drug screens are also required for all top candidates considered for positions in ACC's College Police department.
Description of Duties and Tasks

Additional Job Specific Duties
- Specialist in Transportation logistics and Warehouse operations.
Must possess required knowledge and be able to explain and demonstrate, with or without reasonable accommodations, that the essential functions of the job can be performed.
- Extensive knowledge of subject matter and relevant topics and issues in the teaching discipline.
- Demonstrated application expertise in the field of Global Logistics, including intermodal transportation issues, cost analysis, and process improvement.
- Demonstrated application expertise in the field of Supply Chain Management, including inventory control, cost control, and risk assessment.
- Knowledge of effective instructional techniques and innovative modes of course delivery adaptable to a variety of learning styles.
- Must be knowledgeable about and capable of using current technologies in the classroom and to convey online course content.
- Understanding the comprehensive mission and philosophy of community colleges.
- Sensitive issues relating to a diverse student body.
- Principles and practices associated with Servant-Leadership.
- Working cooperatively with colleagues.

- Must demonstrate creativity and innovation in the field, service in the profession, and/or the Supply Chain Management community, including, demonstrated expertise in the field of Global Logistics, including intermodal transportation issues, cost analysis, and process improvement, and/or demonstrated expertise in the field of Supply Chain Management, including inventory control, cost control, and risk assessment.
- Effective planning, organizing, communication, and interpersonal skills including use of tact and discretion and the ability to meet deadlines.
- Effectively assisting and assessing student learning.
- Interacting with students of diverse backgrounds.
- Being punctual for classes and office hours.
- Maintaining an established schedule, including evenings and weekends, including possible multiple campus locations that may vary by semester.
- Maintaining confidentiality of student information.
- Demonstrated proficiency using computer applications, online resources, and other technologies for the classroom and online learning as well as to develop and build course content and perform administrative duties (posting office hours, syllabi, grades, etc.).
Required Work Experience
- Three years non-teaching work experience in International Business, Logistics, or Supply Chain Management.
Preferred Work Experience
- Work experience teaching at a university or community college.
- Educational requirements in accordance with SACSCOC accreditation standards: Bachelor's degree in International Business or International Studies or specific SACSCOC requirements to teach specific courses in the discipline. SACSCOC requirements may differ depending on the courses taught within the discipline. - Master's in International Management (MIM) or Master's in Business Administration (MBA) specializing in International Business, Operations Management, or Supply Chain Management.
- Reliable transportation may be required for teaching in multiple campus locations.
- CLT or CSCP certifcations highly desired.
- Work is routinely performed in a classroom or office setting.
- Ability to communicate effectively with students and colleagues.
Other Preferred Qualifications
- APICS CPIM<sup>®</sup> professional certification or MSSC CLT<sup>®</sup> certification in supply chain management highly desired.
- Work safely and follow safety rules. Report unsafe working conditions and behavior. Take reasonable and prudent actions to prevent others from engaging in unsafe practices.
