Primary Function of Organization Unit: North Carolina State University's Poole College of Management educates tomorrow's leaders through the University's active integration of teaching, research, and engagement. At the undergraduate level, the Department of Economics offers B.A. and B.S. degrees in Economics and a B.S. in Economics with a Concentration in Business Economics. The department also offers a Masters of Economics degree as well as a Ph.D. in Economics. Fields of concentration include Econometrics, Microeconomics/IO, Environmental Economics, Macroeconomics, Finance, and International Economics.

Essential Job Duties: This position supports the department head and serves as principal administrative contact for the Department of Economics. Manages the day-to-day administrative office tasks, including but not limited to: * Use WolfReports to reconcile departmental account and maintain budget spreadsheet * Compile information to compose and post a listing of the departmental teaching schedule and office hours at the beginning of each semester * Initiate small purchase vouchers in Peoplesoft * Code and enter invoices for payment * Enter travel reimbursements and honorarium payments * Assist in resolving any payment issues * Serve as CAMS coordinator tracking physical assets and performing annual inventory on items * Answer departmental phone line * Contact with visitors * Supervision of student workers * Sort and distribute mail Provides support to department faculty members: * Collect electronic copies of course syllabi for each class being taught for the semester and forward them to the Office of Undergraduate programs * Assist the faculty advisor of the Omicron Delta Epsilon Honor society with sending out correspondence to eligible candidates in the spring semester * Assist with the preparations for the annual ODE reception * Maintain calendar for conference rooms Provides support to search committees: * Prepare position descriptions for posting * Track applicant information and coordinate with College HR Specialist during recruitment process * Provide support to the workshop coordinators * Post a workshop calendar of events each semester * Make travel arrangements for visitors and process reimbursements

Minimum Education/Experience:

Department Required Skills: * Experience in an administrative support, office management, or similar role * Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) or similar software * Solid written and verbal communication skills * Ability to follow instructions and interact with many different individuals * Strong interpersonal skills * Experience with calendaring systems * Good judgement and ability to use discretion when handling sensitive and confidential information

Preferred Experience, Skills, Training/Education: * Experience with PeopleSoft Financials and wolf reporting system * Experience with Gmail and Google applications
