HR DIR SCHOOL/CENTER
Duties: Direct all aspects of human resources for the School of Engineering and Applied Science in partnership with central Human Resources and SEAS senior management team. In coordination with central Human Resources provides and/or coordinates the delivery of wide range of human resources support and consulting services including but not limited to staff engagement, staff recruitment and onboarding, staff relations, compensation, staff professional development, conflict resolution, training policy development and interpretation. Provides leadership in the direction, review and continuous improvement of human resources programs and services to fulfill the strategic plan of SEAS. The HR Director in partnership with SEAS senior leadership will be responsible for benchmarking and analyzing current programs and initiatives against current and future trends to establish best practices for the school. The Human Resources Director must have an extensive knowledge of all laws, (federal, state and local) that pertain to human resources, and the knowledge to comprehend, interpret and analyze their impact in the workplace.
Qualifications: BA/BS required. Five to seven years progressively responsible and varied experience in human resources field. Demonstrated experience in compensation administration. Two or more years of compensation experience preferred. HR Certification preferred. Knowledge of federal, state and local laws related to human resources. Strong employee relations, recruitment, conflict resolution and coaching skills required. Excellent interpersonal, organizational, collaboration and time management skills. Ability to benchmark, collect and analyze relevant data to support recommendations to management about human resources actions and initiatives, including program and policy enhancements. Excellent oral and written communication skills. Demonstrated ability to manage human resources in a higher education environment; particularly providing consultation services to faculty preferred. Ability to interact effectively with diverse individuals at all levels. Demonstrated ability to initiate, develop and implement a wide range of human resources programs independently and in collaboration with other Human Resources professionals.
