The University of Virginia invites applications for the position of Program Coordinator for Fraternity & Sorority Life. The Program Coordinator works closely with the fraternity and sorority community at the University of Virginia, including undergraduate members, advisers, community stakeholders, and inter/national headquarters staff to advance the fraternal experience which focuses on scholarship, leadership, service, diversity, self-governance, and honor. The Program Coordinator will serve as the primary liaison to at least one of the four Greek Governing councils in addition to several chapters that are governed by all Councils. The Program Coordinator is also responsible for designing, developing, and delivering services and resources for the fraternity and sorority community that promote leadership, service, scholarship, organizational development and compliance with the Fraternal Organization Agreement. The Program Coordinator will also lead the curricular design and development of unit-driven educational and programming efforts.
A unit of the Office of the Dean of Students, Fraternity and Sorority Life (FSL) works to educate and support fraternity and sorority members as they promote their founding principles and shared community values. The staff is committed to strengthening leadership and student self-governance at the chapter and council levels. The FSL team also serves as the University liaison to alumni, (inter)national headquarters staff, and volunteers. The Program Coordinator reports to the Assistant Dean & Director of Fraternity & Sorority Life.

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Commitment to and ability to operate in a system of student self-governance.
Demonstrated knowledge of and experience working with student organizations, fraternity/sorority communities, and leadership education.
Demonstrated ability in designing, implementing, and evaluating programs and seminars related to student leadership and organizational development.
Knowledge of student development theory and philosophy.
Ability and willingness to attend some meetings and programs outside of normal working hours (evening and weekend work).
Ability to communicate and work effectively with a wide range of constituents.
Ability to manage multiple priorities and problem solving.
