The Director of Residential Life provides strategic planning, goal setting, organizational development, and budget management for a dynamic residential program. The Director is also responsible for creating positive learning communities and for shaping environments that support students' academic success and personal growth.
Minimum Requirements: Advanced knowledge of advising and counseling techniques.
Knowledge of University and departmental principles and procedures involved in risk assessment and evaluating risks as to likelihood and consequences.
Ability in problem identification, reasoning, ability to develop original ideas to solve problems, persuasion, leadership, and intercultural competence.
Skills in project management, social perceptiveness to be aware of others' reactions and understanding why they react as they do.
Skills in monitoring/assessing people, processes or services, to make improvements.
Thorough knowledge of Student Affairs/Student Life specialization.
Preferred Qualifications: Knowledge of common University-specific computer application programs.
Knowledge of University policies, processes, and procedures.
