ASSOCIATE DIRECTOR PAYROLL
Job Summary The Associate Director Payroll supervises the daily operations of the professional staff of the department. This position performs high-level professional level accounting work and is responsible filing tax reports and processing payments to the Federal government and numerous state tax entities. Any mistakes in processing tax payments can result in extremely large fines to the University. The position is responsible for the annual W-2 balancing process and submission of W-2 files to Social Security Administration and states. The position is also responsible for Teachers Retirement System (TRS), Employees Retirement System (ERS) and Georgia Defined Contribution (GDCP) reporting and works closely with these agencies to resolve discrepancies and other issues. Minimum Qualifications Completion of a Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Business Administration or related field and six years experience in governmental or commercial accounting with emphasis on internal auditing or an equivalent combination of experience, training and/or education.
