Assistant Professor - School Counseling #150711
Posting Information: Western Carolina University's Department of Human Services invites applications for a 9-month, tenure track faculty position in the Counseling Program beginning August 1, 2017. Teach, supervise, and advise students in CACREP-accredited Master's degree program in school counseling and clinical mental health counseling; coordinate field placement for school counseling; serve as liaison for university and area school counseling service. Applicants should demonstrate excellence in teaching, a record of scholarship, and service through leadership. Instruction based at WCU's instructional site at Biltmore Park in Asheville.
Minimum Training & Experience Requirements: Earned doctorate from a CACREP accredited institution in counselor education; evidence of expertise in master's-level teaching in CACREP core curriculum and school counseling specialty area; experience in school counseling; NC K-12 school counseling licensure; leadership and collaboration skills; evidence of scholarship and service.
Preferred Qualifications: Graduate of and experience in CACREP-accredited programs; North Carolina LPC-S licensure; expertise in motivational interviewing.
