University of North Texas - IT Manager II
* This position is open to internal candidates at the University of North Texas.UNT's Administrative IT Services (AITS) is seeking to hire an IT Manager II to join our team. This position serves an operational role that manages and maintains a broad range of computer equipment and IT services, including but not limited to: * Production and development servers, both physical and virtual.* Workstations, laptops, and mobile devices.* Cloud-based software/services.* Audio-visual equipment including HD displays, matrix switchers, and wireless presentation devices.* Software including Microsoft Office, Adobe Creative Cloud, and specialized UNT and departmental applications.* Printers and MFPs.* Surveillance, access control, and environmental systems.* PCI devices and environments.The IT Manager II also plays a key role in supporting other IT efforts undertaken by the AITS team and supported areas. Responsibilities include but are not limited to: * System administration, IT personnel management, technology deployment, IT collaboration, coordination, architecting, and appraisal. * Analyze and respond to technology requirements of diverse user base.* Partner with multiple IT support departments and other stakeholders to provide front support for a broad variety of hardware and software platforms.* Provide project management for IT projects and provide in-scope management for projects that require IT involvement.* Document and enforce appropriate IT policy as directed by key stakeholders. * Deploy IT devices in a complex and evolving environment.* Serve as backup and on-call roles for areas of direct and indirect operational responsibility. * Serve as a backup to the AITS ITM III in operational, emergency, and supervisory matters. The successful candidate will possess a Bachelor's Degree in related field and five years of related computing work experience; or any equivalent combination of education, training and experience.The following knowledge, skills, and abilities are required:* Prior experience with specific systems, equipment and software may be specified as needed by department.* Considerable knowledge of principles of computing and/or communications networks, and characteristics of computing hardware and software used in distributed environments.* Ability to supervise and train subordinates.* Ability to operate computer keyboards and to install computer hardware.* Ability to assimilate, retain, and utilize technical and applications-oriented information.
