The Athletics Department at the University of North Texas is seeking to hire an Assistant Director of Student Services - Athletics to join our team. The primary function of this position is to develop, coordinate, and provide support for student athlete programming in the following areas:* Life skills and leadership development programming.* Career seminars, resume development workshops, and internship coordination.* Oversight of student-athlete advisory committee.* Coordination of the assignment and scheduling of tutors and academic coaches.* Provide academic support and advising for various sports.* Manage study hall and coordinate schedule for monitors, 5th year service, and hourly workers.List of Key Activities:* Manage an efficient student hall schedule, maintain staffing after hours, and develop tutoring/academic coaching schedule.* Develop and implement career development, leadership, and life skills programming.* Manage and oversee community service initiatives and community outreach activities of student-athletes.* Prepare academic reports and work with coaches/student-athletes to reach desired academic goals and outcomes; assist with recruiting presentations to potential student-athlete recruits and families.* Manage portfolio of assigned student-athletes in the area of academic advising, support, and instruction; assist with monitoring of grades and class attendance, and assist with annual academic reporting.* Oversight of Student-Athlete Advisory Committee; reports on SAAC initiatives to Executive Staff, and assists with goals and objectives coming from the committee.* Coordinate administrative functions related to payroll of tutors and academic coaches, scheduling, and evaluation of student-athlete success tutors and academic coaches.* Assist with other duties as assigned with relation to student-athlete academic success.The University of North Texas System is firmly committed to equal opportunity and does not permit - and takes actions to prevent - discrimination, harassment (including sexual violence), and retaliation on the basis of race, color, religion, national origin, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, age, disability, family status, genetic information, citizenship or veteran status in its application and admission processes, educational programs and activities, facilities, and employment practices.
