The Construction Inspection group within the Facilities Planning, Design & Construction Department (FPDC) at the University of North Texas is seeking to hire a Construction Specialist III - Assistant Construction Inspector to join our team. Responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to:* Serve as UNT's representative for campus construction projects.* Observe the quality and progress of construction.* Monitor contractor's adherence to established construction schedules, practices.* Ensure contractor's conformance to construction documents.* Coordinate inspections with contractor and university constituents.* Accompany inspectors and authorities having jurisdiction to job sites.* Maintain observation/progress reports & photos for university reference.* Attend project coordination meetings.* Participate in commissioning efforts.* Keep daily construction progress logs and progress reports. * Preparing ad hoc cost estimates, processing construction change documents & submittals, etc.The University of North Texas System is firmly committed to equal opportunity and does not permit - and takes actions to prevent - discrimination, harassment (including sexual violence), and retaliation on the basis of race, color, religion, national origin, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, age, disability, family status, genetic information, citizenship or veteran status in its application and admission processes, educational programs and activities, facilities, and employment practices. The successful candidate will possess a Bachelor's Degree in Architecture, Interior Design, or related field and four years of professional related experience; or any equivalent combination of experience, education, and training. The following knowledge, skills, and abilities are required:* Physical ability to access work areas which may be in confined spaces or elevated heights.* Proficiency in specific software may be required.* Valid driver's license and ability to drive a vehicle, and maintain coverage under University auto insurance policy, if required to drive University vehicles.
