University of North Texas - Director of Procurement
The Business Support Services Department of the University of North Texas System is seeking to hire a Director of Procurement to join our team. Director of Procurement will provide functional leadership to the procurement services area, which includes the Buyers, Senior Buyers and Purchasing Card team. The Director will participate in the management and implementation of process improvements to system-wide purchasing, strategic sourcing, and procurement card management. The Director will identify, recommend, and coordinate change implementation to improve business processes to create efficiency, cost savings, and to leverage resources.Responsibilities of the position include but are not limited to:* Managing day to day operations of the Procurement group.* Coaching and developing employees to success; evaluating employees.* Conducting needs assessments and making recommendations for process improvements or new program developments.* Participation in development of policies and procedures that represent best practices while conforming with System regulations, institutional policies, State statutes, regulations and laws governing State institutions.* Maintaining positive relationships with clients and campus departments.* Ensuring staff are trained and knowledgeable of all State as well as UNT System regulations, statutes, and policies to create a compliance environment.* Ensuring a customer-service oriented environment that supports the values and mission of UNT System shared services.* The Director reports to the Senior Director of Procurement and acts in place of Senior Director in the Senior Director's absence.* May serve on various University committees representing Procurement Services.The University of North Texas System is firmly committed to equal opportunity and does not permit - and takes actions to prevent - discrimination, harassment (including sexual violence), and retaliation on the basis of race, color, religion, national origin, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, age, disability, family status, genetic information, citizenship or veteran status in its application and admission processes, educational programs and activities, facilities, and employment practices.
