Assistant Professor (Diagnostic Medicine / Pathobiology)
General Description of Position: The Department of Diagnostic Medicine/Pathobiology, College of Veterinary Medicine at Kansas State University invites applications for a full time, 12-month, tenure-track position in Veterinary Parasitology at the Assistant Professor level. Job Description: The successful candidate will be expected to 1) provide innovative leadership for the department's veterinary clinical parasitology diagnostic service, 2) establish an extramurally competitive veterinary parasitology research program that contributes to the research mission of the department and college and 3) teach in the veterinary professional curriculum, support graduate student training and participate in post-graduate training of veterinarians. Required Minimum Qualifications: Minimum qualifications include a Ph.D. degree in parasitology or related field. Applicants having a D.V.M. degree (or equivalent) are preferred. Desired qualifications also include experience in providing support for clinical diagnostic services, record of achievement in didactic classroom or small group instruction, record of quality research training and the potential for establishment of an extramurally funded research program, excellent written and interpersonal communication skills, and Diplomate status in the American College of Veterinary Microbiologists (or equivalent board certification).
