The WVU Department of Radiology is a leader in electronic imaging with all examinations in the diagnostic section acquired digitally and accessed via a GE PACS system. The Advanced Imaging Center is comprised of two PET-CT scanners and five MR scanners. The Nuclear Medicine Lab contains five cameras and two SPECT CTs.

The WVU Breast Imaging Section has three digital mammography machines (Hologic Selenia Dimensions with tomosynthesis), two GE Logiq E9 ultrasound machines, as well as a GE Invenia ABUS machine. We utilize two Siemens Aero 1.5 T MRI machines with 16 channel coils, as well as a Hologic upright stereotactic machine that works as an add-on to our third mammography unit.  We perform procedures using mammography, ultrasound, and MRI guidance, and we do a large number of localization procedures using both radioactive seeds and traditional wires.
