UVa's School of Continuing and Professional Studies seeks applicants to fill non-tenure track part-time faculty-wage instructor positions in Cyber Security for online teaching in both undergraduate and graduate Cyber Security programs beginning Summer 2017. SCPS employs academic faculty who have applicable content expertise at the appropriate level, and who provide evidence of recent and/or current professional experience which applies to students' achieving the goals and learning outcomes of the program. These positions may be performed from remote locations.
Subject area needs include but are not limited to: cyber security management; human factors in cyber security; cyber security policy, law, and ethics; writing and communications in a technical field; cyber security data analytics; secure software engineering; critical infrastructure protection
Graduate-level instruction: A Ph.D. or terminal degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Information Security, or related field
Undergraduate level instruction: A master's degree with 18 hours graduate work in the concentration and extraordinary practitioner qualifications may be considered in lieu of a Ph.D. or terminal degree.
Required Experience: A minimum of one year relevant subject matter teaching experience
Preferred Experience/KSAs: Experience working with adult learners; online teaching; and, extensive industry practitioner experience; certification in the subject matter area; and effective verbal and written communication skills
The University will perform background checks on all new hires prior to making a final offer of employment.
Note: This is an at-will faculty wage position which does not carry benefits. All hires are made as part-time appointments.
