Location: Aberdeen, MD
University of Maryland University College (UMUC) seeks adjunct faculty to teach in the Information Technology & Computer Science program. Specifically, we are seeking faculty for Information Systems Management courses such as:
IFSM 201 : A practical application of information technology for personal and professional productivity. The objective is to use technology appropriately and fluently in order to organize, analyze, and communicate information. Topics include hardware, software, office applications, information security and ethics, and the Internet.
and IFSM 300 : An overview of information systems and how they provide value by supporting organizational objectives. The goal is to analyze business strategies to recognize how technology solutions enable strategic outcomes and to identify information system requirements by analyzing business processes. Discussion covers concepts of business processes and alignment of information systems solutions to strategic goals.
Required Education and Experience:
- Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field from an accredited institution of higher learning.
- Professional experience in design and development of secure technical solutions for computing systems and/ or networking infrastructure.

- Experience teaching adult learners online and in higher education is strongly preferred.

Guide students in active collaboration and the application of their learning in problem- and project-based learning demonstrations.
Provide rich and regular constructive feedback, utilizing rubrics effectively for the assessment of student work, and acknowledging student accomplishments.
Demonstrate relevant and current subject-matter expertise, and help students connect concepts across their academic program.
Provide feedback to your program chair on possible curricular improvements.
