Job Description Summary
This position provides clerical and customer service support for the college’s Business Office.
• Greets visitors and answers telephone; provides information and assistance; takes messages; refers to appropriate personnel
• Receives and records payments
• Processes BANNER web payments; processes check and credit card payments
• Assists in managing Student Accounts
• Documents and Records Incoming Checks
• Processes Outstanding Checks
• Reports Unclaimed Property
• Reconciles Escheatment Account
• Issues Petty Cash
• Reconciles Petty Cash
• Issues Student ID’s
• Processes incoming and outgoing mail
• Processes journal entries
• Maintains Business Office Records
• Perform other duties as assigned
• Specific duties will be included on a task list

The Accounting Services Director assigns work in terms of general instructions. The supervisor spot-checks completed work for compliance with procedures, accuracy, and the nature and propriety of the final results.
Guidelines include Business Office policies and procedures, BOR policies and procedures in reference to tuition and fees. These guidelines are generally clear and specific, but may require some interpretation in application.
Complexity/Scope of Work
The work consists of related clerical and customer service duties. Frequent interruptions contribute to the complexity of the position.
The purpose of this position is to provide clerical and customer service support for the college’s Business Office. Success in this position contributes to the efficiency and effectiveness of office operations.
Contacts are typically with co-workers, other college personnel, faculty, staff, students, vendors, and members of the general public.
Contacts are typically to provide services, give or exchange information, or to resolve problems.
The work is typically performed while sitting at a desk or table.
The work is typically performed in an office.
Supervisory and Management Responsibility
•Knowledge and level of competency commonly associated with completion of specialized training in the field of work, in addition to basic skills typically associated with a high school education.
•Sufficient experience to understand the basic principles relevant to the major duties of the position, usually associated with the completion of an apprenticeship/internship or having had a similar position for one year.
