Position Summary: Acts as underwriter for WKAR TV and Radio and will participate as a collaborative member of the Broadcasting Services/WKAR development team to build annual support from corporations generating operating income through the sale of underwriting mentions and web and promotional opportunities in support of personal and department revenue goals; meet sales goals while maintaining and building relationships with new and existing accounts; drafting and finalizing underwriting agreements including schedules and costs; writing copy that adheres to CPR and FCC guidelines; prospect and direct sales; while constantly seeking new methods to increase revenue and decrease expenses; reports to the Senior Director of Development.

Faculty: Minimum Qualifications Support Staff: Minimum Requirements Knowledge normally acquired by completing a four-year college degree program in a related field; one to three years of related and progressively more responsible or expansive work experience in media, advertising or marketing sales, or related field; work experiences in sales, advertising and marketing strategies and departmental operations; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Typing Requirements (wpm):

Desired Qualifications: Willingness to travel, and valid driver's license strongly recommended. Excellent written and verbal communication skills with ability to maintain strong rapport with new and existing relationships, experience in public speaking and professional writing; dynamic, accomplished, responsive and collaborative individual with the ability to think and act strategically; professional media, advertising or marketing sales experience in public broadcasting, non-profit charitable organization, media outlet or higher education; ability to demonstrate positive results from prospect identification to cultivation to solicitation.
