Posting Information: The School of Stage and Screen at WCU combines training for both film and television and theatre. Responsibilities for the Assistant/Associate Professor of Theatre Design includes: teaching courses in Design Fundamentals, Scenic Design, Scenic Painting, and Properties Design, advising Design/Tech students and mentoring student designers, as well as designing sets for four of the six main stage productions. Additional design work in lighting or sound is possible if expertise warrants. This is a nine month, tenure-track position.

Minimum Training & Experience Requirements: Terminal degree (MFA or Doctorate) in Theatre Design or Theatre Production from an accredited institution and/or at least five years significant professional design experience at the national level. Must be able to demonstrate skill with CAD and/or Vectorworks as well as hand drafting.

Preferred Qualifications: Additional experience in lighting or sound design. Working knowledge of ETC lighting consoles, QLab Pro 3 and 4, and various sound consoles.
