The Virginia College Advising Corps seeks an Assistant Director to support and further our mission of enhancing college access for low-income, underrepresented, and first generation students. Specifically, the Assistant Director will recruit, hire, and supervise College Advisers, oversee their high school placement sites, maintain good communication with each partner school district, plan and implement summer and monthly training for College Advisers and Site Supervisors, lead the VCAC presence on social media, and utilize data in decision-making.

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Communication skills, including the ability to present ideas clearly and effectively in written and verbal form; capacity to convey information to both individuals and groups.
Understanding of the Virginia College Advising Corps program and mission. Ability to demonstrate and explain this knowledge in written and verbal form to a wide array of audiences.
Ability to compile, assimilate, and organize both printed and electronic information (including website and social media). Ability to apply knowledge to data collection, storage, organization, manipulation and/or analysis of data.
Comfortable use of MS Office applications and other relevant software systems to meet the program's needs.
Ability to identify and understand issues, problems, and opportunities; use effective approaches for choosing the appropriate course of action or developing appropriate solutions.
