The Department of Mathematics at the University of Connecticut is seeking to hire an Assistant Professor in Residence, beginning in the Fall 2017.

The successful candidate will provide undergraduate teaching at the UConn Stamford campus, located 40 miles from New York City.

As the largest of UConn's regional campuses, in one of the most high-profile and economically productive counties in the state, UConn Stamford provides a top twenty-ranked research university education, delivered in the day-to-day climate of a small urban liberal arts college. With New York City and all it has to offer less than an hour away, UConn Stamford seeks to educate not only in the classroom, but by creating bridges to experiential learning opportunities that will help our students prepare for future careers.

Minimum Qualifications

A Ph.D. in mathematics or a related field completed by the start date of the appointment; a strong teaching record; the ability to teach courses at the undergraduate level; experience with educational technology. Applicants with an interest in mathematics education are strongly encouraged to apply.

Preferred Qualifications

Demonstrated experience with educational technologies, such as online homework systems, message boards, videos, smart boards, or classroom personal response systems ("clickers") and experience teaching large lectures.

Appointment Terms

These are full-time, nine-month, non-tenure track positions which may lead to long-term multi-year contracts. The teaching load for these positions is approximately six courses per year. These positions have an anticipated start date of August 23, 2017.
