The University of Virginia's Department of Economics of the College and Graduate School of Arts & Sciences invites applications for multiple positions at all tenure-track and tenured ranks (Assistant/Associate/Professor) in cross-sectional econometrics and all areas of applied micro-economics including labor, education, public, IO, development, and trade.
Candidates are expected to have an outstanding research record relative to rank, along with the capacity to teach and advise Ph.D. students in their research. Candidates will be expected to teach at the graduate and undergraduate levels and provide service to the University, department and professional organizations. The department aims to recruit faculty dedicated to building and extending a top-tier research portfolio, including the development of external funding to support research endeavors. The Department of Economics is eager to attract scholars eager to work together and build on the intellectually vibrant community for economists at the University.
Review of applications will begin September 12, 2016. The appointment begins with the fall term of 2017, with an anticipated start date of July 25, 2017. Applicants must be on track to receive a Ph.D. in the relevant field by May 2017, and must hold a Ph.D. at the time of appointment.
