Required Qualifications:
1) Texas Advanced Practice Nurse license with prescriptive authority. Must be in good standing with the Texas Medical Board and Texas Board of Nursing.
2) Board Certified as a Psychiatric/Mental Health Nurse Practitioner.
3) DPS registration
4) DEA registration

Preferred Qualifications:
1) Basic Cardiac Life support certificate.
2) Experience working in a primary care or mental health setting.
3) Computer experience including use of Microsoft Office and documenting in electronic health records.

Job Description:
Student Health Center (SHC) at Texas State University in San Marcos is seeking a full-time Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner for an ambulatory health care facility serving college students.

This position is located on the San Marcos campus.

Job Duties:
To assess, diagnose and treat patients with mental health disorders. Appropriate consultation with psychiatrists and other specialists is pursued as deemed medically necessary. Health care is coordinated with psychiatrists, therapists, social workers and other physicians as appropriate.
